Here's this weeks anticipated beauty review! Now I'm going to abridge this review because I'm literally en route to Reno ( but I'm not driving though; must conserve that precious battery life). That being said, I'd like it if we could all take a walk down memory lane: did you have a relative or neighbor who sold Avon, and if you did, do you remember what your favorite products were? Maybe you, much like myself, were still fairly young and only just beginning to show interest in makeup.
Whatever the case, one thing is certain: We all have at least one item that sticks out in our mind from the beginning of our relationships with cosmetics (that's what throwback Thursday is for, right?). For me, it was the ultra color rich lip lacquers. Each hue in the set represented the different statement, they were perfect in so many words. That's my way of saying that I hope to give this lipstick the justice it deserves!
Color.
As you've probably guessed, the color is one of the reasons that I fell on love with this lip color. It's bold and bleed-able, and although I usually don't like my lip color to do this, I've come to admire it regardless. Either of the colors displayed look lovely gradiated, as a stain, or worn straight out of the tube.
Scent.
Well the cherry jubilee does not smell like cherry, and the burnished gold does not smell like metal. Clay, they smell like white clay.
Durability.
The burnished gold has remarkable staying power, does not transfer, and is not likely to bleed. This is due to there being fine granules of golden glitter packed into the stick. As for the cherry jubilee, it does bleed and transfer, but because it stains your lips, it won't appear to have faded very much in five hours of wear.
Price.
I bought from a local Avon representative, it was two for 6.00USD or 3.99 each. I'm uncertain of what the going price is, but a quick visit to Avon's website should clear that right up!
Packaging.
Each lip color canister is individually wrapped in a plastic film with a UPC printed vertically across it. Just beneath that is a perforation that makes shedding the film much easier.
Overall.
I'm smacking a great big five star label on these little delights. I have one more thing to add as a note:when in doubt, always exfoliate! That's it for this beauty review, but I will be posting a pictorial in the next few days. Thanks for sticking with me!
